Junior Year- In Review
Junior Year was a challenge. During my third year of College at UC, I started to get into the upper level classes of both Accounting and Finance majors and the curriculum became more difficult. Taking on more leadership positions in my Church and at UC, I became more involved socially. In H20 Church, I became a Well Discipleship Mentor, a Lifegroup Bible Study Facilitator, and a general leader in the church. Due to a more demanding course load and increased involvement on campus, I had to learn how to manage my time even more effectively than ever before. Throughout the second semester of my Junior Year, I had an internship downtown working for PwC. At PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, I performed YE audit work for various clients in the OKI (Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana) Market Region. Thus, I was traveling up to 600 miles a week and working between 40 and 60 hours a week. This experience helped me to grow a lot as a person and be able to experience what it would be like working as an accountant, especially during busy season. After completing both my summer risk management internship and my winter accounting internship, I changed majors from Accounting to Insurance and Risk Management (IRM). Additionally, due to time restrictions during Spring Semester, I chose to step away from my Honors Ambassador Position with UHP. Due to switching majors, I will be taking classes consecutively for three more semesters (summer, fall, and spring). Spring 2018, I will graduate with a double major in Finance and Insurance and Risk Management with a minor in International Business. I am looking forward to going into my final year of college and am excited to see where I will end up in the business world!
